# Extensiv - How do I link my account?

## Overview

To authenticate with Extensiv, you need an API key pair from Extensiv Integration Manager (formerly CartRover):

1. **API User** - The user half of your API key pair.
2. **API Key** - The secret half of your API key pair.

Extensiv Integration Manager has three types of API keys. Each type gives access to a different set of [API endpoints](https://developers.cartrover.com/):

* **Cart API keys** - for a single sales channel, such as submitting orders from your own cart.
* **Merchant API keys** - for a merchant's orders, carts, and inventory.
* **Warehouse API keys** - for a warehouse or OMS managing many merchants.

This guide shows you how to create each type. Create the one that matches the endpoints your integration calls.

### Prerequisites

* An Extensiv Integration Manager account.

### Step 1: Create your API keys

Log in to Extensiv Integration Manager, then follow the steps for the key type you need.

**Cart API keys**

1. Go to the **Carts** tab and click **New Setup**.
2. Select **API Access** from the list.

3. Copy the **API User** and **API Key**.

**Merchant API keys**

1. Go to the **Merchants** tab. Warehouse users should then click the merchant they want.
2. Click **API Keys**.

3. Click **New Setup**.

4. Enter a **Name** so you can identify the keys later. The **API User** and **API Key** are generated for you.
5. Copy the **API User** and **API Key**, then click **OK** to save them.

**Warehouse API keys**

1. Go to the **Merchants** tab.
2. Click **Global API Keys**, then click **New Setup**.
3. Name the keys so you can identify them later.
4. Copy the **API User** and **API Key**.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Cycling your API keys in Extensiv Integration Manager immediately invalidates the previous keys, which breaks the connection until you reconnect with the new ones.

### Step 2: Enter your credentials in the Connect UI

1. Open the form where you need to authenticate with Extensiv.
2. Enter your **API User** and **API Key**.
3. Submit the form, and you should be successfully authenticated.

You are now connected to Extensiv.
